Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Kolkata from January 11. In the meantime, he scheduled to attend a function to mark the 150th anniversary of Kolkata Port Trust and dedicate the heritage buildings to the nation. According to the statement of the Prime Minister’s Office, on Saturday, the Prime Minister will dedicate four heritage buildings in Kolkata to the country. The report said that these buildings include the old currency building, Belvedere House, Metkoff House, and Victoria Memorial Hall. The Ministry of Culture has done its repair and decoration work.
The ministry is developing cultural sites around such famous buildings in various metro cities. Under this, projects in Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Varanasi have taken up. On Saturday and Sunday, PM Modi will participate in the Kolkata Port Trust program. He will also present a check of Rs 501 crore as a final settlement to meet the shortfall in the pension fund of the current and retired employees of Kolkata Port Trust.
